The Tabono Center for Wellbeing is an established mental health practice in the Cincinnati area. We are seeking a medical billing specialist to assist with the insurance claims process. General responsibilities include ensuring timely claim submission, posting payments, reconciling accounts, and corresponding with insurance carriers. The biller must ensure proper account documentation in our billing system.

At the present time, we estimate that the position is 20-25 hours per week. As we grow, the position will grow as well, including potential for full-time employment with benefits (e.g., paid time off, health insurance, etc.). The position can be fully remote, in-office, or a hybrid.

Responsibilities:

• Determine eligibility
• Create and submit invoice / claims
• Post payments and reconcile accounts
• Contact with insurance carriers to address issues related to payment
• Contact carriers regarding Preauthorization
• Review/resolve, in a timely manner, unpaid claims, denials, exceptions or exclusions
• Using our EHR billing program - Provide reports on billing activity, including payments and outstanding balances.
• Review all related documents for accuracy
• Provide other administrative assistance as needed
• Reports directly to clinical directors

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• At least 1 year of medical billing experience
• Knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid and major insurance carrier’s guidelines
• Experience using CMS-1500, ICD-10 codes, and CPT codes
• Knowledge of private insurance carriers, EAP, and Ohio Bureau of Worker's Compensation
