The Part-Time Physician's Assistant Consultant will support the XEVAS contract supporting NASA/Commercial Space during the design development, testing and operation of NASA and commercial EVA and lunar space suits.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assists medical doctor as a medical assistant.
• Assists in the development and maintenance of the Medical Operations Plan.
• Performs as medical monitor and medical test team member in support of space suit test, training, and operational events.
• Participates in the development of the integrated Decompression Sickness (DCS) protocol, treatment, and countermeasure strategy with NASA and host vehicles (during missions).
• Provides analysis of testing, pre and in flight eEVA System in-suit nutrition and food safety.
• Perform administrative and maintenance tasks and inputs into Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
• Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED:

• This position requires US Citizenship or Permanent Resident Status due to the sensitivity of customer related information.
• Must have a master's degree from an accredited physician's assistant program, or equivalent.
• Must have successfully passed PANCE licensing exam.
• Must have 7+ years of experience providing occupational medicine.
• Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) - Basic certification.
• ACLS/ATLS training or equivalent certification.
• Prior academic or professional working experience with aerospace medicine topics such as life support systems and hyperbaric/hypobaric operations.

DESIRED:

• Prior experience with National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) processes and procedures.
• Prior experience working with military or other major aerospace and space companies.

WORK LOCATION:

• This position is located onsite with minimal opportunity for hybrid or remote work while performing consultant duties.

• Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.

• Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time).
• May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).

ATTENDANCE:

• Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical.
• Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.

BACKGROUND INVESTIGATIONS REQUIRED:

DRUG AND ALCOHOL SCREENING REQUIRED:
