Landrum ENT provides comprehensive Ear, Nose, and Throat services, including allergy, hearing, and cosmetic services, to Ada and the surrounding communities.

Landrum ENT seeks a mature people person with attention to detail to be our next Patient Coordinator/Surgery Coordinator. The ideal candidate is a service-oriented multi-tasker who is comfortable on the computer and has excellent communication skills and thrives on helping people.

Qualifications and experience:

• High school diploma, associate’s degree preferred
• 5 years of work experience; 1 year customer service experience
• Neat, professional appearance
• Pleasant speaking voice and demeanor
• Strong attention to detail
• Type 40 WPM (accurate and fast data entry skills)
• Experience with an Electronic Health Record

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Answers all incoming calls for the practice
• Schedules patient appointments, according to protocol
• Enters patient demographic and insurance information into the computer program
• Verifies information is complete and accurate
• Performs insurance eligibility verification
• Ensure all referrals are received prior to the patient’s appointment
• Routes faxes as appropriate in the EHR
• Scans insurance cards and other information
• Collects payments for services and issues receipts
• Obtains precertification/preauthorization from insurance companies prior to surgery for each procedure and test, using an online application or by contacting insurer on the telephone
• Verifies patient eligibility and coverage for the procedure using an online application or the telephone; if patient is not eligible on date of service, or procedure is not a covered benefit, explains this to patients
• Counsels patients pre-operatively regarding their potential financial obligations, and provides information about patient insurance coverage
• Assists patients with setting up payment plans, and collects pre-surgical deposits
• Schedules operating room time, according to physician scheduling protocols; faxes H&P to hospital admitting department or ASC
• Collects and posts surgical deposits
• Sets up recurring payments
• Coordinates all business and clinical paperwork prior to surgery, using physician-approved forms and checklists
• Performs other administrative and clerical duties
