- Interprets, inputs, fills, and labels prescriptions and drug orders in a timely and accurate manner.
- Identifies, appropriately acts upon, and documents actions taken regarding drug incompatibilities and interactions, allergies, therapeutic duplications, and doses prescribed outside of appropriate ranges.
- Advises and assists patients and physicians on appropriate generic product selection and substitution, to include compliance with third party formulary plans and restrictions.
- Understands the use of available drug information resources and accurately responds to drug information inquires coming from patients and other health care providers.
- Counsels patients about the selection, storage, and use of drugs, nutritional supplements, and other health care products.
- Advises physicians, nurses, and patients regarding content, therapeutic actions, utilization, contraindications, and potential interactions of prescribed drugs.
- Accurately weighs, measures, and mixes compounded medications, and correctly uses pharmaceutical equipment and techniques.
- Supervises supportive personnel and assists when necessary; accurately checks the work performed by technical personnel in a thorough and timely manner.
- Ensures that identified problems and issues of concern are resolved or referred to appropriate parties for resolution.
- Completes all records and provider necessary documentation when processing prescriptions and medication orders.
- Understands and complies with State and Federal rules and statutes.
- Maintains valid Missouri pharmacist license.
- Protects patient confidentiality.
- Customer Service – ensuring each and all customers are at a minimum satisfied with the pharmacy service along with resolution of any customer satisfaction issues.
