Dant Clayton is seeking a dynamic and energetic Sr Process and Quality Engineer to oversee day to day needs and the strategic initiatives in capital investment projects, process engineering, process improvement and process control.

Position Overview

The Sr Process / Quality Engineer responsibilities include:

• Identify, develop, and implement process and equipment improvements on the shop floor that drive improved equipment OEE, reduce labor and improve safety / quality.
• Own the annual capital investment plan, ensuring manufacturing excellence in process technology, manufacturing systems and plant equipment.
• Develop a network of skilled suppliers supporting plant operations and process improvements.
• Provide direction and leadership to the maintenance team driving improved equipment uptime, best in class preventive and predictive maintenance programs, spare parts management / organization with all associated KPIs for continuous improvement.
• Define and develop all key process control parameters on the manufacturing floor and develop the tools, processes and management review systems to ensure 100% product conformance at all times.
• Partner with the COO on leading and driving a transformational manufacturing strategy with one piece flow concepts, bottom up employee engagement, visual management and the elimination of waste.

Competencies and Qualifications

1. BS degree in mechanical, process or manufacturing engineering.

2. Green belt and / or ISO 9000 certification.

3. 10+ years’ experience in metal fabrication (cutting, sawing, forming, bending, drilling) and welding / fitting and finishing systems, in both steel and aluminum.

4. A desire and passion to work with the team on the plant floor and solve problems using root cause analysis.

5. Excellent project management experience creating solutions to plant floor bottlenecks or constraints.

6. Capital investment project management skills (justification and implementation to goals).

7. Plant and equipment maintenance leadership experience with direct experience driving preventive and predictive maintenance programs.

8. Experience developing and networking with a base of suppliers for plant support and improvement.

9. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent communication skills, verbally and in writing.

10. A positive / can do attitude and team player.

11. Excellent computer skills including MS Office products, AutoCAD and the suite of quality tools such as minitab.
