Job Description: Product Engineer/ Lead Engineer

Privately owned and operated Custom Store Fixture and Millwork manufacturer located in Philadelphia, PA is seeking an Engineer for Wood and Metal product development. Requires strong ability to interpret architectural and design concept drawings. This individual shall collaborate with project managers as well as customers to review designs and determine best manufacturing methods for implementing production process. The principal goals of candidate are ability to examine customer’s vision(s) and generate a full set of detailed construction documentation on all aspects of production, shop drawings, installation details and purchasing specifications. Engineering process must consider keen understanding of industry tolerances, cost effective construction methodologies and ability to communicate entire manufacturing progression with production floor through documentation. Please note that this position requires individual to be in-person and not a remote option!

Responsibilities:

• Take design ideas and layouts and develop a complete package of documents which includes the following: Customer Shop Drawings, Production environment assembly drawings & details, Drawings for special or custom buyouts or components (metal, glass, electric components, etc.), Bill of materials (BOM) / Product details, Plate drawings for each itemized part that requires machining, Installation drawings
• Use strategic planning
• Carry out research into project-related issues and products
• Schedule drawing completion for projects
• Adapt to shifting priorities, demand, and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities
• React to project adjustments and revisions promptly and effectively by being flexible during times of change
• Work with a team in a collaborative environment as well as independently and efficiently
• Prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment

Position Requirements:

• At least 3-5+ years experience of various cabinet construction and building techniques in store fixture/casework industry & panel processing
• Extremely knowledgeable in Autodesk Inventor
• Must have strong interpersonal and organizational skills
• Worked in full metric environment
• Experience engineering with 32mm system standard principles for processing panels
• Hands on bench/shop floor experience that is applied to engineering practices is a plus
• Well versed in all types of engineered wood panels, high pressure laminate and edge banding industry standards
• Knowledge of all types of general industry hardware (European hinges, drawer slides, KD systems, etc.)
• Familiar with wood optimization software (Cut Rite or equivalent)
• Knowledge of panel processing equipment and CNC technology
• Thorough understanding of product routing/manufacturing steps and manages implementation into software systems
• General knowledge of store fixture industry metal details, metal gauges and metal construction techniques

Base Salary:$60,000 - $95,000 depending on skills and experience
