ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Go through training to understand yarn manufacturing process
• Manage and lead a team of approximately 25-40 production employees/ 1/3 of a One Million Square foot facility for the assigned shift to meet daily production, quality, and safety goals
• Utilize attained knowledge and experience to analyze & troubleshoot equipment and machinery
• Possess or attain a thorough understanding and working knowledge of our manufacturing process and related equipment, machinery, and systems, including the proper setup and control settings of the equipment
• Thoroughly communicate important information to all employees to ensure the smooth flow of materials/products and to make sure employees possess the information needed to successfully perform their job duties
• Maintain conformance with policies, rules, and procedures on his / her shift
• Take appropriate coaching, counseling, and corrective action (when necessary) with nonconforming associates
• Attain a high-level working knowledge of all QC Systems and material/product testing equipment
• Little office time in this role - 95% of the time spent on the production floor
• Manage, lead and coach 6S/Housekeeping (Note: 6S is the traditional 5S from TPM + Safety)
• Manage time & attendance on a daily basis for all direct report employees
• Must be flexible and willing and able to work all shifts, including weekends

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

• High School Diploma and/or GED

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• 3+ years of experience as a shift lead or lead technician
• Manufacturing experience
• Production Shift Supervisor experience
• Work-related experience in leading and ensuring compliance with safety initiatives
• Demonstrated ability to raise performance by building and maintaining positive relationships with all associates
• Desire to advance in leadership positions without mobility restrictions
• Background in Production Management, Manufacturing Management

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Must be physically equipped to maintain an upright, walking position for a twelve (12) hour shifts.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Must keep work area and machines clean. Wear required personal protective equipment at all times and adhered to all safety rules and procedures.

WORK SCHEDULE:

• 12 hour shifts (7pm-7am)
• NIGHT SHIFT ONLY
