Quality Assurance Coordinator

Successful and growing global importer and food manufacturer headquartered in the Mohawk Valley is seeking a Quality Assurance Coordinator to assist in maintaining the company’s quality assurance and food safety initiatives. Timely and accurate documentation and controls are critical in food manufacturing, and the ideal candidate will be exceptionally organized and highly detail oriented. This role reports to the Quality/Operations Team Leader, and has exceptional long-term growth potential.

Training will be provided to obtain and maintain relevant certifications. Top candidates will be enthusiastic about gaining hands-on experience in order to reach the stage where they can execute daily tasks proactively and accurately with minimal supervision.

Typical Duties (including but not limited to):

• Audit & other certification preparation
• Maintain supplier requirements & documentation
• Maintain traceability of incoming & outgoing goods
• Prompt completion of customer quality-related requests
• Prepare standardized product documentation
• Receive & log incoming samples, including tasting & testing
• Prep & log outgoing samples
• Monthly SQF communications
• Annual employee training

Preferred experience and skills include:

• Associates degree or a minimum 2 years relevant experience applicable to manufacturing, food science or engineering
• Direct work experience with quality control and safety programs, preferably food-related
• Direct work experience in a manufacturing facility or laboratory environment, preferably related to food production
• Certifications (or willingness to complete training) for: Safe Quality Food (SQF) Practitioner; Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI); and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP)
• Superb organizational and project management skills - MORE IMPORTANT than direct experience
• Excellent communicator - MORE IMPORTANT than direct experience
• Attention to detail - MORE IMPORTANT than direct experience

Minimum Requirements:

• Willing to work full time 40 hours per week
• High school diploma or equivalent
