The Research Associate assists the Medical Clinical Affairs department with research studies, quality projects and clinical programs to help provide the best care for our patients. Prior CCHT experience preferred. Coverage area in North Bay.ABOUT SATELLITE HEALTHCARE

ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a purpose-driven team member dedicated to providing quality care to patients in a safe and professional environment. The Research associate, RA, is an important member of the department. The RA roles helps execute project tasks while tracking data to help analyze outcomes. Organization, forecasting and understanding what we are doing helps make change for improved quality care are critical to success in this role.
Essential Functions:

  • Assists in gathering of lab specimens and subsequent processing
  • Completes and maintains case report forms
  • Performs research study procedures
  • Obtains research consents
  • Assists in the collection and processing of data
  • Completes on-line course in Good Clinical Practice and Research
  • Knows and follows all Satellite policies and procedures for infection control and understands the hazards associated with failing to follow those procedures
  • Prepares, records, and files laboratory reports as directed

Communications:

  • Contributes to harmonious and constructive working relationships with all staff members to promote a positive and productive atmosphere
  • Ensures the confidentiality of patient and employee information
  • Participates in self and/or peer evaluations
  • Promotes a teamwork approach by offering information, advice and assistance to all unit staff members in a positive, courteous and cooperative manner

Minimum Education & Experience:

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. certificate
  • Prior clinical, medical field, and/or research support experience preferred

Minimum Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to do basic calculations in addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, and percentages
  • Proficient computer skills in Excel, Word, and Power Point
  • Ability to read, write, speak, understand and satisfactorily communicate in English; Spanish language skills are desirable
  • Knowledge of renal replacement therapy, hemodialysis procedures and related subject issues including medical language preferred
  • Aspires to enter the medical field as a profession
  • Demonstrates willingness to help patients
