We are looking for a dedicated Restorative RN to join our team. Providing you with competitive pay, and full benefits, in a great Long Term Care facility. The general purpose of the Restorative RN is to coordinate, manage, monitor, evaluate all resident restorative nursing programs and complete all associated documentation for the facility.

Restorative RN Director duties include:

  • Performs all restorative nursing program evaluations and re-evaluations. Is responsible for timely completion Bowel & Bladder Incontinence evaluations on admission, quarterly and at the time of a decline in status of incontinence.
  • Documents evaluations and re-evaluations in the medical record. Communicates to the Rehab Department issues requiring a re-evaluation of treatment measures which may require Rehab screening or evaluation for Rehab treatment.
  • Provides ongoing and periodic individual staff education regarding Restorative Nursing Programs in concert with the Rehab Department and Staff Development.
  • Makes resident rounds, checking, observing and supervising care rendered by Restorative Nursing Assistants, and promptly answers residents’ calls regardless of assignment.
  • Observes and monitors Nursing Assistants and provides them with orientation, training, and ongoing guidance and support related to Restorative Nursing Programs.
  • Provides other resident care and treatments, such as performing catheterizations, performing suctioning and tracheostomy care, performing gastrostomy care and tube feedings, measuring and recording vital signs, helping residents to eat, drink, toilet, stand or walk, and assisting them in maintaining personal hygiene and bathing as needed or assigned.
  • Works as part of a health care team to evaluate residents’ needs, plan and modify care in conjunction with the Interdisciplinary Team, participates in the implementation of interventions, and assists other licensed nurses and Nursing Assistants in effort to provide optimal and quality care and services.
  • Maintains a safe work environment and exhibits safe work practices in accordance with Facility policies and procedures, including infection control techniques to prevent the spread of communicable diseases.
  • Maintains knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations, as well as adheres to, upholds, and enforces all facility policies and procedures.
  • Attends all department meetings and/or educational programs as scheduled.
  • Performs additional functions or duties, as assigned by the supervisor.

Education/Certifications/Experience

  • EDUCATION: High school diploma or GED is required.
  • CERTIFICATION: Current RN license is required, and the employee must be in good standing with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Possession of a current Basic Life Support for HealthCare Providers CPR certificate or enrollment in a CPR class may also be necessary.
  • EXPERIENCE: Sufficient education in order to perform daily tasks with an understanding of the duties involved.

  • Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to walk, reach, climb, bend, stoop, lift, grasp, balance, push, and pull food and equipment on a sporadic basis. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to hazardous chemicals, infectious waste, blood and body fluid, diseases, and conditions prevalent at the time. Employees may also be subject to emotionally distraught residents, family members, visitors, and personnel. The noise level in the work environment is typically minimal to moderate.
