The Country Store is the retail division of Skagit Farmers Supply, a diversified local agricultural supply cooperative. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Candidates should excel in identifying things that need to be done and figure out a way to do them effectively and efficiently. Job responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
• Greeting customers and promptly assessing their wants and needs
• Advising customers on purchase options
• Organizing and effectively merchandising items for sale
• Stocking and cleaning the store
• Utilizing customer-focused selling skills, add-on selling, closing skills, and other sales generating skills
• Accurately completing sales using POS system according to established procedures
• Ensuring a safe and clean environment
• Exhibiting an ability to get along with others
• Practicing punctual and reliable attendance
• Performing other duties as assigned

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma (or equivalent)
• Product knowledge in pet food, health and other related supplies
• Proficiency using Microsoft Windows
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods; bend, stoop and kneel frequently
• Lift, carry and load 60 pounds (minimum) weight requirements
• Professional appearance and demeanor
• Proven track record of being dependable and reliable
• Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with co-workers and customers for safety purposes
• Strong organizational, multi-tasking, problem-solving, and analytical skills
• Must pass background check and pre-employment drug screen as a condition of employment (includes testing for THC/marijuana)
• Possess a valid driver license and maintain a safe driving record

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience working in a retail setting
• Product knowledge in one or more of the following areas: feed, seed, clothing, footwear, gift, lawn & garden, hardware, animal health, horse/equine, livestock or wild bird supplies

HOURS / DAYS / SCHEDULE

This is a full time, 40 hours per week position (schedule will vary). Sunday through Saturday. Must be available to work evenings and/or weekends as needed.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

$17.00 - $19.00/hour. After meeting eligibility requirements, benefits include:
