Security Guard for Dockside Cannabis

Dockside Cannabis is a Washington State Licensed (I-502) retailer specializing in quality medical and recreational cannabis products and accessories. We currently manage stores in Shoreline, SODO, Ballard and Green Lake.

We are looking for experienced security guards with excellent customer service skills and at least one year of experience in a security related role. We are looking for team players not afraid of wearing many hats and managing a constantly changing workflow. We need smart, passionate, and creative people ready to take the road less traveled and excited by the challenge of helping to keep a new business and customers safe in a rapidly growing industry.

This role is unarmed. They will be provided with the tools necessary to accurately perform their job (including security jacket/vest, tool belt, etc.).

Key Responsibilities:

• Acts with integrity and groundedness that promotes the culture, values and mission of Dockside

• Maintains a calm demeanor during periods of high stress to keep the store operating to standard and to set a positive example for the team

• Ability to de-escalate conflict

• Follows and ensures team compliance with Dockside operational policies and procedures to ensure the safety of all employees during each shift

• Has keen attention to detail and surroundings

• Maintains regular and consistent attendance and punctuality

• Greets customers upon entry with friendly demeanor

• Keeps entrances clean and inviting to customers

• Follows health, safety and regulatory guidelines

• Secures premises and personnel by patrolling property, monitoring surveillance equipment, inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points

• Monitors public access to the premise by controlling entry

• Protects company’s property and staff by maintaining a safe and secure environment: observant, aware, and ready to investigate disturbances

• Take detailed and accurate Incident Reports of unusual occurrences; report in detail any suspicious incidents to management

• Patrol randomly and regularly the building’s perimeter and parking lots

Job Requirements:

• Must be 21 years of age

• Minimum of 1 year of security in a regulated industry (502, nightlife, military, etc.)

• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment

• Strong verbal communication skills and excellent organizational skills

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time

• Ability to stay focused, alert, awake, off your phone

• Ability to be outdoors primarily with few indoor duties

• Willingness to work nights and weekends and to adjust your schedule as needed.

• Willingness to work at other Dockside locations as needed.

Required demonstrated skills and abilities:

• Proven ability to work independently with little or no supervision;

• Ability to receive and provide constructive feedback on work performance.
