Our client, a Global Leader in Medical Technology and Surgery is searching for a Senior Product Development Manager. In this role the R&D Senior Functional Manager will Lead, grow and motivate a highly talented, diverse, world-class performing engineering team responsible for design and development of pioneering cardiovascular medical devices and procedures.
As the Senior Product Development Manager.

  • Lead, grow and motivate a highly talented, diverse, world-class performing engineering team responsible for design and development of pioneering cardiovascular and transcatheter medical devices and procedures
  • Participate as a member of the Group R&D leadership team
  • As part of the leadership team you will participate in the ongoing development and scaling of the organization in line with business demands and ensure that we have the competencies in place to deliver predictable outcomes
  • Partner with internal and external experts to maintain and strengthen relevant clinical and technical expertise and to contribute to strategic planning for the organization and within your Therapy area
  • Grow and nurture cross site and cross functional relationships in a large, multi-site, matrixed organization
  • Support and ensure achievement of project objectives and milestones
  • Contribute to project decision-making using personal expertise, customer input, and strong engineering and clinical judgment
  • Manage high-level engineers, and other managers, involved in an array of product development and technology exploration projects
  • Actively mentor, coach, and ensure career development plans are in place for direct reports
  • Collaborate with core teams to establish objectives and evaluate progress of direct reports
  • Responsible for managing functional cost center budget and resource allocation
  • Understand and comply with company policies & procedures and external standards & guidance
  • Generate novel and unique solutions to both engineering and organizational challenges
  • Directs, designs and implements a comprehensive product management strategy
  • Functions as the central resource with design, manufacturing, quality and test, and marketing as the product(s) move to completion and distribution
  • Directs those involved in the design, modification, and evaluation of all phases of a specific product or group of products from product definition through production and release (i.e., Product Lifecycle Management)
  • Ensures that products shipped meet specifications and quality goals
  • Formulates and executes long-term plans for cost/profit control
  • Promotes use of new technologies and industry-leading trends to product management activities
  • Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function

Senior PD Manager must have: Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience with 5+ years of managerial experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with 5+ years of managerial experience

Nice to Have:

  • Track record of developing and implementing broad improvement initiatives
  • Excellent team building, people management and leadership skills, with demonstrated communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Dynamic team player and leader and can work effectively and proactively on a global team
  • Cross-functional project team experience
  • Experienced in a medical device market and have a proven result driven track record
  • Proven ability in influencing cross functional peer colleagues
  • Experienced in working with large, multi-site, matrix organizations
  • Product design related to cardiovascular products
  • Experience with Design for Reliability in Manufacturing or an equivalent

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $150,000.00 - $190,000.00 per year
