Job Summary

As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase, you design and deliver market-leading technology products in a secure and scalable way as a seasoned member of an agile team. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.

Job responsibilities

  • Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
  • Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems
  • Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development
  • Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems
  • Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture
  • Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies
  • Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
  • Experience in Java, or equivalent modern programming languages
  • Experience in building micro services with RESTful APIs, and Java Spring Boot
  • Strong coding fundamentals in Algorithms & Data Structures
  • Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Knowledgeable in architecture & application design of large scale systems
  • Experience with AWS (or other cloud technology) is a plus
  • Knowledgeable in RDBMS, SQL, NoSQL
  • React, Angular JS and/or JavaScript UI development is a plus
  • Experience working in a fast-paced Agile environment
  • Passion for automating & excelling at identifying gaps in processes
  • Strong bias for action; ability to take ownership and think long-term
  • Excellent analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills coupled with a strong work ethic

The Partner Channelteam is a part of Chase's Connected Commerce organization, which is responsible for Chase's Commerce offerings. We are building the next-generation platform that powers Chase partnerships across multiple lines of business, enabling partner benefits and Commerce products. We are building solutions that leverage cloud technology like AWS to launch new capabilities and experiences for our customers through our trusted partners.
