Unique full-time opportunity to clerk in-house with Merz North America, an international pharmaceutical company dedicated to the development and marketing of innovative quality products for physicians and patients. Learning opportunities will include attendance at a variety of corporate and regulatory meetings.

Primary Project Details: Duties include learning how to develop strategies and practices to maximize the effectiveness of the Global Merz Aesthetics Legal function; learning how to counsel Global Marketing on global promotion campaigns, reviewing and negotiating a wide variety of contracts; advising global colleagues on regulatory matters; learning about Compliance for a pharmaceutical/medical device company, and implementation of risk mitigation strategies in close collaboration with Regional attorneys and Global Compliance.

Project Deliverables:

Anticipated duties include: contract review and document drafting; assignments relating to business development and product acquisition and licensing; and, research of federal and state laws and regulations on issues related to the manufacture, distribution and marketing of Merz's products. Research may also involve corporate law issues relating to business arrangements and resolution of potential business disputes. The intern will need to compose brief memoranda and emails on various matters from Merz Legal to internal clients, and to management.

Minimum Qualifications:

The intern should be detail-oriented, a self-starter, and able to meet deadlines. He or she must have good interpersonal skills and an ability to work well with clients within an organizational structure. A solid academic record is required, and specific achievements in contracts and/or administrative law are a plus.

Education:

• At least a second or third year at an ABA accredited US law school.
