TITLE: Team Leader

PROGRAM: Big Futures

Requirements: Must be upper classperson in an undergraduate or graduate program in social work, education, psychology, or related field, and have an interest in mentoring high school students. Will also consider undergraduate students with a unrelated degree who have experience working with at-risk high school aged students.

Skills: Highly organized, effective communicator and collaborator, experience and interest in mentoring high school students. Must be able to manage a small team, must be proficient in public speaking and presenting.

Hours: M-F (9:30 – 3:30 at $16.50/hour); 6/26/2023 – 8/4/2023

Location: Big Brothers Big Sisters of Westchester County - 10 Midland Avenue, Suite 203 Port Chester, NY 10573

Description: Reporting directly to Big Brothers Big Sisters staff. Four (4) Team Leaders are responsible for organizing and supervising a group of 15-20 high school interns. Team Leaders will be responsible for overseeing interns through neighborhood outreach/mentor recruitment/college tours/speaker series and other assigned projects by BBBS.

Team Leaders will also manage high school interns as guest speakers present workshops focusing on resume writing, post-secondary readiness, mindfulness, financial planning, and similar topics. Additional activities include career days & college tours.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Oversee and manage a team of high school interns

Work with students on setting and achieving growth goals

Coordinate canvassing to targeted neighborhoods with team, transportation, and college visits

Lead in organization of and oversee assigned projects assigned by BBBS staff

Lead weekly presentation on effectiveness of projects

Other duties as assigned

Job Types: Full-time, Contract, Internship
