The Trading and Logistics Associate position supports the senior traders with all logistics, scheduling, and contract management tasks. You will work with our small group of traders and logistics coordinators to help schedule shipments, communicate changes with clients, source freight capacity, and update information in our internal system. You may also be asked to complete many other one-off tasks or take on side projects. We are a small office, and we all wear many hats. It is a fast-paced environment, and no two days are ever the same. Although the work can be stressful, we operate in a casual, comfortable office space with a very supportive culture. Most employees have worked with us for over 10 years.

The ideal candidate will be interested in logistics, the biofuel or feed industry, and/or commodity trading and merchandising. We are physical traders - often described as wholesalers, brokers, procurers, or merchandisers. We do NOT trade contracts on the CME or other exchanges. This role requires you to juggle and prioritize many tasks simultaneously and communicate with multiple parties. Being quick with numbers, organized, and an excellent communicator is essential. No previous industry experience or knowledge is necessary - you will receive extensive training on the job. We seek common sense, integrity, good people skills, and a willingness to learn and work hard. The best associates previously have become senior traders, a highly coveted position.
This role is NOT remote. You are required to commute into our beautiful Lake Minnetonka office daily.

• Comfortable with computers and the Microsoft Office suite.
• Excellent typing skills. If you are slow on the computer, you will struggle.
• Good basic math skills. You will need to make many simple but quick calculations.
• Attention to detail and great organization skills. You can't let stuff fall through the cracks.
• Service-oriented - we bend over backward to help our customers.
• Competitive nature - we compete for business every day.
• Team-oriented - you will collaborate with about five other people daily.
• Willingness to take orders and execute them. The traders will dictate many of your tasks to you. It's your job to help make their lives easier, and take initiative when appropriate.
• Great attitude. The job can be stressful. It's important that you stay cool and positive with your colleagues and clients. Don't worry, there will also be downtime to have fun and relax.
