SUMMARY
The Transportation Analyst II, reporting to the Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis, is responsible for identifying, creating, developing, and integrating innovative solutions that lead to improvements in Barrett’s transportation network. They will also be responsible for conducting quantitative analyses of information affecting transportation budgets and forecasts. Will continually focus on accuracy, efficiency, and process improvements. Will work with the VP of Transportation on a regular basis.

The compensation range for this position is 65K-85K per year, depending on experience.



PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform on-going analysis and tasks driving continuous cost and service improvement by recommending and implementing stated improvements.
  • Interact with clients via email, telephone, in-person to determine client needs
  • Work in conjunction with department leadership to develop and provide KPI reporting including, but not limited to regular and ad-hoc reporting and analysis relating to vendor performance and transportation costs by client/mode-of-transport, company P&L.
  • Assist in preparing internal/external quarterly and monthly business reviews, as well as annual budget for transportation. Support customer-facing discussions, working alongside account managers, to provide insight.
  • Perform analysis of key business information and drivers, presenting recommendations to company decision-makers and stakeholders
  • Monitor financial performance on a weekly and monthly basis by analyzing variances between budgeted and actual results and report variances to leadership.
  • Assist in creating and publishing reports that can be used by the leadership to understand drivers of freight costs, options for cost reduction and service improvement
  • Perform ad hoc analysis as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s Degree required. Four (4) years of relevant work experience may be substituted for the college degree.
EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in Transportation planning, procurement, or supply chain
Proficient in all Microsoft business applications such as Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Experience in Intelligent Audit and/or Tableau preferred.
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
Excellent analytical, multi-tasking and time management skills.
Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Experience must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to balance competing priorities, complex situations, and tight deadlines. Strong emphasis on organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines and the ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
