Placon is seeking a Vice President of Finance!

The Vice President of Finance is responsible for accomplishing organizational strategic financial objectives by developing, monitoring, and evaluating plans and results. The Vice President of Finance manages the corporate functions of Finance, Accounting, and Information Systems.

Essential Accountabilities

1. Responsible for overall corporate financial planning, analysis and reporting to assure control of corporate assets as well as to provide managerial accounting and analysis to other departments to ensure the company of optimal return on assets.

2. Analyzes and interprets financial information on the company's performance, including long term trends. Makes recommendations concerning management decisions, resource allocation and business operations to improve company financial performance.

3. Determines company requirements for financial and cost analysis planning, control, and reporting systems to support continuous improvement in business operations.

4. Oversees the administration of the Shareholders’ tax distribution and dividend policies and payments.

5. Directs the company’s risk management programs to safeguard corporate assets, assures property and liability risks are appropriately insured and legal/contractual relationships do not leave the company with undue risk.

6. Develops financing alternatives and determines most advantageous financing methods. Develops and maintains working relationships with banks and financial institutions and leads in the arrangement and negotiation of company financing.

7. Contributes to the overall effectiveness of the organization by communicating well with Executive Team and leading by example within the Management Team.

8. Responsible for Accounting Department functions of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Cost, General Accounting and ERP database coordination, managed directly by the Corporate Controller, but with substantial direct involvement.

9. Develops and maintains appropriate Information Systems department, led by the Director, Information Systems. Oversees Information Systems strategy, major acquisitions of hardware and software and plays a large role in prioritization of the I.S. department agenda/systems initiatives. Ensures the department balances the need for new technologies with the benefits and costs of the potential investment.

10. Directs development of procurement strategies and objectives. Oversees purchasing systems and initiatives.

11. Organizes and presents quarterly financial performance of the corporation to the Board of Directors.

12. Coordinates outside financial (e.g. audit and tax) and legal services required by the company in its business activities.

13. Plays a critical role in working with HR on employee benefit programs.

14. Communicates openly and practices a no-surprise approach with the CEO.

Minimum Qualifications

Six (6) years experience performing the major elements of job accountabilities. MBA, with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and CPA certification.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $210,000.00 - $230,000.00 per year
