Job Title: Corporate Communications Intern

Introduction:

Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions is seeking a corporate communications intern with experience in public relations. The successful candidate will possess excellent time-management and organizational skills and will be able to apply critical thinking to provide solutions during everyday tasks. This position reports to the Director of Corporate Communications.

Responsibilities:

The Corporate Communications intern will support activities that include public relations, thought leadership, and media relations efforts.

• Daily News Monitoring to share actionable items and opportunities in support of a media rapid response program.
• Research:
• Media list development
• Editorial calendar development and management
• Thought leadership opportunity discovery

• Writing:
  • Contribute to media relations initiatives through the development of draft emails, media pitches, key messages, etc.
  • Support internal communications activities.
• Propose new ideas to improve the process and implementation of process of key departmental projects.
• Must be able to anticipate project needs, discern work priorities and meet deadlines.

Qualifications

• This role is open to undergraduate students currently enrolled in a four-year degree program, majoring in marketing, business, communications, etc.
• Creative, strategic thinking and logical reasoning skills.
• Prior internship experience in a similar role ideal, but not required.
• Capable of taking direction and working independently on assigned tasks.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to collaborate with diverse team members as needed.
• Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
• Strong usage of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Team player
• Good time-management skills
• Positive attitude, detail, and customer-oriented with good multitasking and organizational ability
• Fluency in English
• Experience in public relations and media relations
