The Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner will assess, plan, and provide patient care under the indirect supervision of a physician. Some duties include triage, examine, and treat general as well as urgent care patients to ensure proper injury care, disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery; prescribe and administer medication, assist with COVID specimen collection, perform routine vaccinations, and provide advice regarding personal health; request necessary tests and follow-up visits and refers patients to specialists as necessary.
The ideal candidate will

• Licensed as a NP or PA in the state of Virginia;
• Must possess Virginia DEA license;
• Must be able to work independently (under indirect supervision);
• Have at least 2+ years of experience as a provider in an urgent, immediate, or emergency care setting;
• Knowledge of basic ER, internal medicine, occupational medicine, and family practice procedures;
• Appreciate the good, the bad, and the ugly of urgent care, and value working in a team-oriented, patient-centric culture;
• Promote teamwork between clinical and administrative staff;
• Have the ability to use judgment to determine when a supervising physician should be consulted;
• Flexible and adaptable with a focus on not turning any patient away before exhausting all reasonable options; and
• Perform other duties as assigned.

The clinic hours are:

• Monday-Friday: 8:00am- 8:00pm
• Saturday-Sunday: 8:00am-4:00pm
• The clinic is open on all holidays except for Thanksgiving and Christmas.
• Work shifts are typically 12 hours.

Schedules are determined on a quarterly basis allowing greater flexibility to accommodate vacations, CME, other personal and professional commitments. Compensation is competitive, with the potential to earn an incentive bonus.
