JOB SUMMARY

Spectrum Reach provides industry leading media solutions for audience-based advertising. Addressable advertising is evolving as a core strategy for efficiently delivering against that audience and Spectrum Reach has enabled this tactic for both our advertisers and programmers. Interfacing with internal business, engineering cross-functional teams and external vendors to support campaigns and future development needs is a crucial function within the organization to develop a growing addressable product portfolio. As Addressability scales, it requires tremendous coordination throughout the workflow for each campaign.

The Product Development Manager – acts as subject matter expert (SME) for the addressable advertising product lines that Spectrum Reach offers to support product and development over the lifecycle of these products. This person must have experience with large scale product development in the Advanced Advertising or Ad Tech domain, and will ideally have experience in both waterfall and agile development processes. The ideal candidate has a unique blend of business sense and technical understanding, with strong executive, analytical, and organizational skills for planning, prioritizing, and communicating, and exceptional interpersonal skills for leading, influencing, and collaborating, all paired with the ability to understand complex technical problems and solutions.

The role will report to the Director of Advanced Television Product Development and will operate in a highly matrixed environment with numerous key stakeholders.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Actively support all efforts to deliver a comprehensive, best-in-class addressable advertising experience that satisfies the current and future needs of our enterprise customers and partners.
  • Acts as SME for all addressable campaigns and partners with Sales, Yield, Audience Targeting and Operations teams to ensure accuracy of Spectrum Reach’s product capabilities.
  • Support project management efforts for product development initiatives as well as product lifecycle projects.
  • Work closely with the Spectrum Reach business to vet campaign requests against product parameters, Addressable guidelines, and overall best practices.
  • Develop weekly and monthly (as well as ad hoc) KPI summary reports as defined for Addressability. This includes, but not limited to; revenue, profitability, delivery, performance attribution, level of effort, etc.
  • Proficiency in working with data to build analyses and data visualizations to support decisions, troubleshoot, build clear stories and drive business initiatives
  • Use performance tracking to focus attention on areas requiring improvement
  • Track company statistics associated with revenue, subscriber numbers and usage performance
  • Monitors and evaluates campaign production, recommends appropriate enterprise campaign parameters, consults regarding margin thresholds, proactively solves issues, and acts as a single point of contact / subject matter expert (SME) across the addressable portfolio
  • Supports the training construct for addressable best practices.
  • Liaise and work cross-functionally across company divisions, teams and management levels
  • Proactively meets with the internal customers of an assigned project to provide project status updates and reporting and to gather project-related feedback
  • Represent Spectrum Reach with highly professional communication skills with all stakeholders.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Skills/Abilities and Knowledge
  • Experience at an ad tech company, programmer, direct marketing agency, ad agency, DMP, DSP or similar
  • Knowledge of linear/live TV, VOD, and Digital advertising systems and business practices
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Knowledge of list matching, segment generation, ad sales, engagement and attribution
  • Advanced knowledge of addressable products and services
  • Knowledge of advertising principles and best practices
  • Proven initiative and flexibility to work in a team and/or independently
  • Ability to learn new technologies and assess value to business goal and strategy
  • Ability to plan, prioritize and organize effectively and independently
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks
  • Ability to make decisions and solve problems while working under pressure

  • Knowledge of multiple Product development/Project Management methodologies (waterfall, agile)
  • Proficient with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and database management
  • Aptitude for technical products
  • Good organizational and office management skills
  • Strong business sense and sense of urgency to achieve business results
  • Thinks about marketing outcomes, is customer focused, and applies heightened levels of service across all stakeholders
  • Professional, outgoing (partners well with all), confident with sound presentation skills
  • Ideally, work in NYC, Charlotte or Denver and may travel up to 20% of the time, as needed
EDUCATION
  • BA/BS Degree in Business or related to Media and Advanced Advertising or equivalent work experience
  • Advanced degree preferred
  • Prefer management or technical field degree related to the ad tech/advertising field, individual coursework related to ad tech/advertising field, attendance of ad tech/advertising seminars
Related Work Experience
  • Experience in addressable advertising media solutions (5+yrs)
  • Direct Marketing or Agency or Digital Media or Ad Tech experience (5+yrs)
  • Experience successfully delivering/launching marketing or advertising products (5+yrs)
  • Cable, broadcast or network programmer experience a plus

The pay for this position has a salary range of $120,000.00 to $150,000.00. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience and location. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as bonuses.
