JOB SUMMARY

We are looking for an experienced and dedicated VP of Finance who will be responsible for developing and directing the company’s analytical, financial plans and policies. The VP of Finance will also report on metrics to optimize our growth by understanding where efficiencies exist to maximize scalability throughout the year.

VP of Finance responsibilities include overseeing accounting operations, gathering and analyzing financial data and preparing financial reports.

Ultimately, you will work directly with the CFO/COO of our organization to ensure our operations remain on track to hit our target goals.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage the work and development of staff members currently consisting of one full time project accountant, one full time property accountant and one part time accounting assistant.
• Responsible for the hiring and training of new accounting personnel.
• Manage entity daily cash positions and weekly AP requirements ensuring accounts payable are paid timely.
• Ensure that required debt payments are made on a timely basis.
• Responsible for maintaining accurate books and records.
• Prepare monthly reporting package, including comparative reports of operating results and financial position and variance explanations. Due to the CFO no later than the 6th of every month.
• Assist with preparation of annual community budgets.
• Prepare or review annual tax return trial balances.
• Review bank reconciliations, AR & AP general ledgers, loan schedules, management fees, etc.
• Prepare, assist with, or review the City business license, personal property tax and other government forms.
• Preparation (or review), analysis and true-ups of corporate allocation and recoveries.
• Review intercompany accounts & billings between entities, including the follow up of payment.
• Maintain the accounting systems chart of accounts in Rent Manager
• Maintain the accounts payable workflows in AVID
• Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
• Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions
• Assist the Chief Financial Officer in preparing the annual corporate budgets.
• Oversee the operations of the accounting department generally
• Special projects as required.

REQUIREMENTS

• Proven work experience as a VP of Finance or similar role
• In-depth knowledge of financial benchmarking, accounting, audit and tax compliance and other regulatory matters
• Adept in fiscal management principles and processes, including resource management and needs assessment
• Partner with Chief Revenue Officer & Chief Executive Officer to establish and track revenue goals
• Possesses critical knowledge of federal and multiple state tax laws as well as basic accounting issues
• A bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting is a must

Pay: $125,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
