The Transportation Manager is an individual contributor role that will manage transportation operations and drive improvement in transportation related KPIs for various business units at KONE. Coordinates activities among various departments internally and externally with vendors that improve service & quality to the customer while optimizing cost. Analyzes & drives opportunities to improve domestic & international transportation services including but not limited to Ocean, Air, Road (Truck Load, Less than Truck Load), Parcel and Rail transportation. Operations point of contact for Transportation service providers.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage Transportation services and processes interfacing with warehouse receiving, handling, and shipping performance.
Manage International / Domestic Ocean, Air, truck rail delivery processes and performance.
Manage Freight Payables accuracy by collaborating with Freight Payment and Audit vendor and internal Finance, Sourcing & Accounts payable teams.
Lead & control logistics policies, procedures, and activities to maximize the efficiency, reliability, timeliness, and cost effectiveness of transportation operations.
Follow up on logistics market trends and solutions available.
Reviews Logistics performance and manage communication at levels with all key stakeholders.
Build strong partnership with Transportation service providers, Freight Forwarders, and other vendors externally.
Oversee Transportation budget; monitor the cost and effectiveness of activities to optimize resources and prioritize spending.
Collaborate with Delivery Planning, Logistics Sourcing and Material Management team internally.
Come up with creative solutions to enhance Logistics customer services.
Highly involved in Transportation Management System (TMS) processes.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or other relevant area, preferred
Minimum 5 years in relevant field (Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain).
Experience with using Transportation Management System processes (TMS).
Experience with managing Freight Payment and Audit system and processes.
Strong experience with Microsoft office tools, familiarity with using other analytical tools.
Proven track record of Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Actions
Ability to effectively analyze data, distinguish between important information and irrelevant or minor details. Analyze information in a logical and systematic way.
